TIPS
FROM SONJA'S
GROOMING TABLE
Here are some ideas we usually follow
for our own dogs. When it is cold, snowy, rainy, and slushy or muddy we always
recommend you get your dog groomed even then.
Most people think that when the weather
is bad you should not get your dog groomed, but that is when your dog needs it
the most. Their skin gets overly dry or dirty and keeps them from insulating
themselves from the cold and bad weather. A thorough grooming allows the skin
to breathe correctly and allows air circulation to fluff the coat providing a
protective barrier from the elements.
Get your dog in for an appointment so
we can clean them from the skin outwards. We look over your dog thoroughly and
determine if there are any skin health issues. We then proceed to groom your
dog by getting all the dead and loose hair out and dematting your dog. A nail
trim and ear cleaning are then done and on to the bath. We will recommend a
medicated bath if your dog needs it to help correct any skin or coat problems.
On to the bath, shampoo is then massaged well into the skin and coat, rinsed,
blown dry by hand and then finish groomed to get residual loose hair out and a
finish nail grinding completes the process. This is a spa day for your pet. We
do this with Cats as well, so don't forget your kitty.
A light spray of cologne and a bandana
complete the look and you are on your way with a happy clean well-groomed pet
that everyone loves to be near.
Do not forget to do your pet a favor by bringing them in every 4 to 6 weeks they'll love you for it.
